About Octoriq
We build the execution layer for AI work: one API that routes, executes and verifies, so teams can focus on what their product does instead of how every model, tool and agent behind it is stitched together.
1.Why Octoriq exists
Calling a model is easy. Getting AI work done — reliably, at a known cost, with a result you can trust — is not. Every team that ships AI features ends up building the same machinery: picking providers, wiring tools and agents, retrying failures, switching providers when one degrades, checking whether the answer is actually right, tracking what it all cost, and keeping long-running work alive when a process restarts.
That machinery is rarely the product anyone set out to build, yet it decides whether the product works. Octoriq exists so developers can describe the outcome they need and hand the execution to infrastructure built for exactly that.
2.What we are building
Octoriq Router is one API for verified AI work. A client submits a goal with optional constraints on cost, latency, quality and privacy. Octoriq plans the work, routes it to an execution strategy across models, APIs, tools and agents, runs it as a durable workflow, verifies the outcome with checks specific to the capability, and returns the result with its route, attempts and cost.
We route execution strategies, not just models. A research job might combine web search, model synthesis and citation checks; an action job might pause for human approval and then read back what it changed. The router decides how; the client only says what.
3.What we believe
A successful API call isn’t a successful job
A provider returning 200 says nothing about whether the task was achieved. Octoriq owns the outcome, not the provider call: a job is completed only when its verifier passes, and a model’s opinion never overrides a failed deterministic check.
Deterministic first
When a direct API or tool can do the work reliably, it should — before a free-form agent loop or browser automation. Predictable mechanisms are cheaper, faster and easier to verify.
Recovery is part of the design
Providers fail and models produce bad answers. Retries and reroutes are declared in route policies, never improvised at runtime, and every attempt stays visible so you can see what happened and what it cost.
Platform code enforces permissions, not models
An LLM can propose an action; it cannot authorize one. Sensitive actions pass through a permission policy and, where required, explicit human approval of the exact payload.
Honest numbers
We publish what is built and what is not, label demo data as demo data, and route on measured outcomes rather than claims. You pay for verified results, not for our failed attempts.
4.How we build
- Contracts first. Every public request and event is defined in a typed schema; the API reference on this site is generated from the same contracts the API validates against.
- Durable by default. Jobs run as workflows that survive restarts, with replayable progress events.
- Providers behind adapters. Models, search, sandboxes, browsers, SaaS connections and remote agents plug in as executors. Routing and verification never depend on a specific vendor.
- Isolation and tenancy. Workspaces and environments are separated in every query; untrusted code and browsing run in third-party sandboxes, never on our servers.
- Every cost recorded. An append-only ledger captures each provider call, including the failures we absorb.
5.Learning from real outcomes
The most valuable thing Octoriq produces over time is not connectors but execution data: which strategies and executors produce verified, accepted outcomes for each kind of work, at what cost and latency, including the failures and reroutes.
AgentRank turns that history into rankings. Today it is a transparent heuristic over verified outcomes, used for routing only when every candidate has enough samples. We will consider learned ranking only once there is enough real data to justify it. Rankings are built from rates and counts, never from customer content.
6.Where we are today
Octoriq is in early access. Verified web research is available end to end; actions on connected accounts, MCP tools, A2A agents, sandboxed code tests and other capabilities are in beta as we validate them with real providers. The availability labels across this site reflect that status, and the API reference lists what you can call now.
Octoriq is currently operated by its founder ahead of incorporation. If you are building AI products and want reliable execution underneath them, we would like to hear from you — start building or write to support@octoriq.ai.
